Directly comparable to its traditional wooden predecessor, the plastic lumber joist is perfect for use in virtually any project requiring a sturdy, wide beam. Manufactured to the highest standards and with a 26 year manufacturer warranty, the life of a garden building, decking or terrace project, or edging can be extended beyond expectation.
As the plastic formulation contains absolutely no wood, these 100% recycled plastic lumber joists are impervious to rotting, swelling and will not carry mould, making it an outstanding choice when compared to traditional tanalised timber.
Plastic Decking Joist
When installing decking, whether using hardwood decking boards or recycled plastic decking boards, the subframe installation is possibly the most important aspect of the project. Should the subframe fail due to incorrect installation or due to gradual weathering over time, the decorative decking boards can become warped, start to sag and begin to disintegrate.
As the subframe is generally inaccessible following the completion of a project, maintenance can be incredibly difficult to carry out, in order to preserve the longevity of the decking or terrace installation. With recycled plastic lumber joists, this problem is virutally eliminated as the plastic joist does not require any special maintenance, does not rot due to its totally wood-free formulation and will preserve the aesthetic of the installation for many more years when compared to using a traditional wooden subframe.
