A specially formulated and specifically designed UV stable resin binder which can be used with our entire range EPDM rubber crumb to create safe, strong and impact absorbing surfaces for use around play areas, playgrounds and recreational areas. This premium UV stable resin solution is a popular choice with wet pour rubber installers as it cures into a transparent gloss and prevents the area from yellowing or discolouring after being exposed to UV rays.
The wetpour solution has been designed to work with EPDM wetpour rubber or SBR wetpour base rubber. The solvent-free binder is fast curing (though times can be affected by external factors, such as temperature), taking 24-48 hours to fully cure. It is suitable for mixing with base a top rubber crumb. 22kg of binder can mix around 100kg of rubber crumb.
Typically, 100kg of EPDM rubber crumb is mixed with one 22kg UV stable resin binder in a forced action mixer to create a smooth and consistently mixed material ready to be installed.
To find out how to work out how much binder to use, follow the guidance below.
How does WetPour Solution work?
The ground must be prepared and levelled before laying the SBR base layer for WetPour rubber materials. The base layer is determined by the overall depth needed to achieve a particular critical fall height. The base layer is determined by overall depth needed to achieve a particular critical fall height.
Coloured EPDM toppings can be cut and shaped into patterns, shapes and objects and contrasting colours. These can then be situated next to adjacent colours to provide striking and pleasing looks.
Base layers are typically mixed up with a ratio of 10% binder by weight. Use the following calculation:
Base Layer SBR (12.5kg) / 10 = Binder requirement (1.25kg)
Coloured EPDM toppings are usually mixed with a 20% binder by weight ratio. E.g. 15mm will require 12.5kg of granules per square metre and 2.5kg of binder.
The calculation is as follows:
Colour EPDM (12.5kg) / 5 = Binder requirement (2.5kg)
