GeoGrids are ground stabilistation meshes which are installed below a layer of graded sub-base aggregates on a wide range of projects to add strength and remove unwanted material displacement or lateral movement which can hugely affect the final results of an install. The open structure, special formulation and design of our GeoGrids hold aggregates in place to add further tensile strength onto which you can install paving products such as X-Grid. GeoGrid is added to the sub-base build up to provide you with a strong, stable and SuDs compliant layer which in turn reduces the amount of material required required for your sub-base and also ensures the area remains free draining to reduce surface water build up and the chances of localised flooding.
Manufactured from a specially formulated, punched and stretched polypropylene, GeoGrids are perfect for use on projects which require additional strength and stabilisation. Tests conducted on our GeoGrid gave the result of 100% junction efficiency. This effectively means you can greatly reduce your aggregate layer thickness which will save you time and money as less aggregate is required and the volume of material needing to be excavated is reduced too but at no expense to your sustainability targets.
The tests conducted on GeoGrid were carried out by the Transport Research Laboratory and the University of Nottingham. The tests included bearing capacity, traffic trails, installation damage assessment and a number of field tests which proved its many performance benefits.
