Xylene is a high-strength cleaning solvent which is commonly used in resin bound gravel installation projects, as it is well known for its ability to cut through polyurethane resins effectively. It is recommended that after each mix, both the tools and the mixer used are cleaned of any material to make sure that no bits of older, part-cured resin and gravel are mixed in as this can cause problems with the aesthetics of the surface. Xylene cleans forced action mixers and tools such as trowels quickly and effortlessly and helps to ensure that each mix is as perfect as the last.
Xylene is an effective thinner in speciality oil-based paints, epoxy, varnish and adhesives when the desire is to create hard, protective and glossy finishes.
Supplied in an easy-to-handle 1-litre plastic bottle, the Xylene can be applied with a brush and simply wiped off with a cloth or paper towel.
