Description

Needle punched and thermally bonded non-woven geotextile membrane rolls have been designed to offer optimum performance per unit weight giving excellent mechanical robustness and excellent hydraulic properties which make them the ideal choice for separation and filtration. Produced on state of the art equipment, thermally bonded geotextile membranes sets standards in terms of quality and mechanical performance.

Typical applications for thermally bonded non-woven geotextile membranes include:

  • As a general purpose separator for use under site access roads and areas of hard standing
  • As a separation and strengthening layer under new roadways, car parks, industrial units etc.
  • As a filter surround in the construction of a french drain or granular drainage blanket
  • For separation to prevent the intermixing of dissimilar soil layers
  • For filtration to allow the passage of fluids whilst preventing the uncontrolled passage of soil

What is a geotextile membrane?

Geotextile membranes are large pieces of fabric that are laid in the ground, acting as a protective layer. They are most commonly used in engineering and drainage projects, but can be used for a large number of different applications.

Geotextile membranes solve a range of problems commonly relating to the environment. They are used by everyone, from people carrying our DIY project to civil engineering firms who are working on large projects and need large quantities.

What is non-woven membrane?

White non-woven membrane is the perfect fabric for wrapping module soakaway crates or lining land drains. It is also used for ground stabilisation, landscape and building work.

With advances in technology, the modern membrane goes further than filtering fine sediment. The geotextile are developed in order to filter pollutants in the fluids passing through soil particles past the fabric membrane. This prevents the pollutants from entering underlying layers and contaminating groundwater.

What are examples of membrane applications?

There is a large range of membrane applications. This includes:

  • Permeable pavements and roads
  • Scour control
  • Green roofs
  • Ground stabilisation membrane under grass paved areas
  • Gravel driveways
  • Separating stone layers in car parks
  • Permeable paving surfaces
  • Engineering applications (including railway construction)
  • Wrapping soakaway crates
  • Coastal erosion protection
  • Ground reinforcement
  • Providing drainage for horse arenas
  • Gravel-filled plastic paving grids to prevent the gravel intermixing with sub-base layers
  • In road and pavement construction
  • And much more
