Our black plastic cable ties are the perfect product for connecting together neighbouring rubber grass mats. Manufactured from plastic, each cable tie is strong and weatherproof so will not rot away or break down over time and need replacing. Being 200mm long and 2.5mm thick, these cable ties are the best product to use as a simple joining mechanism for all rubber grass mat installations regardless of the thickness of the mats in use.
What are cable ties?
Cable ties are a very simple and cost effecting connecting and fixing solution for your installation.
These are commonly used as a means of fastening electrical wiring. They are a versatile essential of every tradesperson. Cable ties are a low-cost solution to bundling cables and ideal for securing loose items.
The ties are generally single-use devices. They are cut off rather than loosened and reused. If a closed loop needs to be reopened, rather than destroying the cable ties by cutting, it may be possible to release the rachet from the rack. Some cable ties are designed for reuse with a tab that releases the ratchet, but others need a sewing needle or small screwdriver.
Cable ties are a type of fastener, especially for binding several electronic cables or wires together – a process known as cable routing.
Zip ties are used in many industries: electrical installation, harness making, in the construction industry, for preliminary installation purposes, in the packing industry or in extreme environmental conditions such as offshore industry.
How to use cable ties
Wire tie, as they are also known, is easy to use.
Simply insert the pointed end of the cable into the locking piece which is usually the square head of the tie. There is a hole which the pointed end of the tie runs through – it will only work one way.
The teeth on the head will only catch on the ridges of the tie if they are inserted correctly. A quick pull will confirm that they have caught as the teeth will click rapidly over the ridges as it is tightened.
