Specially formulated and designed for use in exclusively resin bound gravel surfacing, our premium 7.5kg aliphatic UV-stable polyurethane resin is the perfect binder for use with decorative kiln-dried aggregates to create an attractive, permeable and continuous stone carpet surface.
The benefits of using a UV-stable resin over the standard non-UV aromatic resin are that when laid, the UV stable polyurethane gravel binder will cure to a transparent gloss and will not yellow or discolour over time which is not the case for non-UV resins. This can be vital when using certain aggregates, such as white or green, where a yellowing surface will be obvious and detrimental to the aesthetics of the installation.
Being SuDS compliant, resin bound gravel allows water to pass through the upper surface, and when installed on to a permeable paving grid, water can drain naturally into the ground below, reducing the risk of surface water build up or localised flooding.
Typically combined with 100kg of washed and dried gravel, this two-part polyurethane UV-stable resin will form a sticky mix which can be mixed together in a forced action mixer, ensuring that the components are mixed consistently and evenly.
The ideal resin bound gravel material combination to create a permeable and solid resin bound gravel surface is as follows:
3x 25kg 2-5mm washed & kiln dried decorative aggregate
1x 25kg 1-3mm washed & kiln dried decorative aggregate
1x 6.25kg bag kiln-dried C52 sand
1x 7.5kg UV-stable plus resin binder
